While ‘Transfer’ alludes to the idea and action of moving, this exhibition focuses on the ambivalence of transitory processes and the complexities of existing in-between places.

Not solely perceived as a linear physical progression, Transferenvisages the undefined states and uncertain spaces that emanate from changing situations. Considering themes such as migration, nomadism and environmental changes, the exhibition questions the concepts of home and belonging in relation to our idea of place as an ultimate and definite prospect. Implicitly conceived in response to the ACP’s current state of transition, Transfer ultimately interrogates our abilities to adjust and locate ourselves within evolving contexts.

Assembling a diverse range of photographic forms by Katrin Koenning, Deb Mansfield, Jeroen Toirkens, Leila Jeffreys, Kurt Sorensen, Rachael Ireland and Stacy Mehrfar, Transfer proposes a kaleidoscope of images and emotions and evokes a rich visual experience of being in-between.
